Welcome to the Friends of Whitney Young (FoWY) community - a wonderful group of dedicated parents, students, alumni, faculty and staff. Back to School usually means monthly social events and we’re thrilled to be bringing some of these events back to our community this school year.
 
We’re asking the Dolphin Community to support our school through various events and campaigns that FoWY will host throughout the year.
 
“Giving back. Paying forward!” is our slogan and we hope you will join us as we work together for the benefit of all of our children.

Dolphin Community Meetings

14th at 6:30 PM in the Whitney Young Library. Learn about our parent organizations, how they operate, and how you can stay informed and involved.

Fall Gathering
Thursday, October 13, 2022

Park Tavern
1645 W. Jackson Blvd.

Come for a drink, a little food, and good conversation at our first adult social of the year! Catch up with other Whitney Young parents and meet new ones in a casual and fun atmosphere. Admission is FREE and you can leave your checkbooks at home for this event!

The Annual Fund

Whitney Young is daring to DREAM BIG. We are launching the 2022-23 Annual Fund, which is driven by big dreams and great anticipation that, TOGETHER, we can make an important impact on our community. The Annual Fund is Friends of Whitney Young’s largest fundraising campaign, which allows us to provide financial support to our school clubs, teams, and academic departments through our grant request program. Stay tuned for details, and please join our efforts to dream big!

Creating Community and Volunteering Time

Gatherings have looked different the past year but FoWY is still committed to building a Purposeful Community among its families, one that continues to celebrate and respect the diversity among us. We want the opportunities in which we interact to be ones where everyone feels welcome and valuable to our school's future. If you have ideas to share or time to give as we launch communication efforts with our Community, we would love to hear from you! Our biggest social event and fundraiser of the year takes place at beautiful Venue West and we look forward to spending the evening together this year after two years of being virtual. Hosted by various members of our community, FoWY will be hosting informal, casual, social gatherings at establishments throughout the city. These events are meant to extend our outreach to different corners of the city where our Dolphin parents reside. This year, we’ve got events planned for:
