Welcome to the Friends of Whitney Young (FoWY) community! We are a dedicated group of parents, students, alumni, faculty, and staff working for the betterment of Whitney Young High School.
 
“Giving back. Paying forward!” is our slogan, and we hope you will join us as we work together for the benefit of all of our children.

Fall Gathering

Friends of Whitney Young invites you to our free annual Fall Gathering at Bunker in the West Loop, which is just minutes from the school. Enjoy some delicious light bites and a cocktail, beer, or wine from the cash bar. Bunker features a bar downstairs, as well a gorgeous cafe and outdoor bar at street level. It's the perfect spot to hang out and get to know other Dolphin parents, plus 10% of drink income will go back to Whitney Young!

Bring another Whitney Young parent with you, reconnect with friends, and make some new ones. Behind every amazing Whitney Young student you’ll find interesting and engaging parents and guardians who want to meet you! We look forward to seeing you at our Fall Gathering.

50 Days To Donate
September 5 - October 25, 2024

Friends of Whitney Young needs your help keeping Whitney Young one of the top high schools in the country. In honor of the school’s 50th anniversary, we are asking everyone to donate $50 per student to help us fund critical needs that CPS does not cover. You can donate here — can we count on you?

Creating Community and Volunteering Time

FoWY is committed to building a purposeful community among our families — a community that continues to celebrate and respect the diversity among us. We want everyone to feel welcome and valuable to our school’s future when we interact. If you have ideas to share or time to give as we launch communication efforts within our community, we would love to hear from you!
