Welcome to the Friends of Whitney Young (FoWY) community - a wonderful group of dedicated parents, students, alumni, faculty and staff. Back to School usually means monthly social events and we’re thrilled to be bringing some of these events back to our community this school year.

We’re asking the Dolphin Community to support our school through various events and campaigns that FoWY will host throughout the year.

“GIving back. Paying forward!” is our slogan and we hope you will join us as we work together for the benefit of all of our children.

Madeline O'Malley was a long-time FoWY Board Member and was the MC at many Spring Bashes. Her daughter, Mae ('22) recently graduated from Whitney Young and her son, Cody ('24) is a rising Senior at Lincoln Park High School.

Madeline unexpectedly passed away last week, leaving her two beautiful kids: Mae (WY) and Cody (LPHS). One of her best friends (Erin Taylor - also a previous WY Mom) started a Go Fund Me to help alleviate costs for her kids.

We are all so devastated to have lost a beautiful soul too soon in life.
