What is Spring Bash? Whitney Young's only all-school fundraising event for parents, alumni, teachers and coaches. Students are not invited to this event. It is adults only.
When and where does it take place? We're working on a date for Spring 2023. Is it a sit-down dinner? Spring Bash is a cocktail party serving wine, beer and cocktails as well as plenty of delicious hors d'oeuvres! The food is always amazing!
Will Principal Harris be there? He wouldn’t miss it. Can my company be a sponsor? Yes, we have a special Corporate Sponsor level which includes acknowledgements of your participation. What is the dress code? Spring Bash is a cocktail party, but a cocktail dress or suit is not required. Come dressed how you feel your best self. Really don't know what to wear? We always say "casual chic"! Dress for a fun night out!
Is there music at Spring Bash? We often feature some of the best of our performance art programs so stay tuned! Later in the evening, we have a DJ which means the dance floor will then be open for those who like to dance! What else happens at Spring Bash? There will be some student performances, lots of people to mingle with, an exciting silent auction with amazing items to bid on, a drawing for our raffle, and a paddle raise. Do teachers attend? Yes, teachers are invited and plenty attend the event as well as coaches, administrators and staff members. Are Alumni invited? Yes, alumni are always invited and often attend. What does Spring Bash support? All proceeds from Spring Bash support student programming at Whitney Young. The revenue from your raffle ticket purchases can be designated to a specific club, team or department. Auction items proceeds are allocated to the team or club that submitted the item to the auction. Clubs, athletic teams and extra curricular programs must raise the funds they need to operate. CPS does not provide adequate funding and without the funds raised from Spring Bash, many of these programs could not exist.
