The President provides overall leadership for FoWY, guiding strategic direction, presiding over board meetings, and serving as the primary liaison to school leadership, donors, and the parent community. The President upholds FoWY's governance standards and bylaws, champions fundraising and donor relationships, supports board recruitment, and partners with the Treasurer on financial oversight.

TJ Brown

The Vice President partners with the President to provide leadership and continuity for FoWY, stepping into the President's role when needed and helping advance strategic priorities. The VP supports board meetings and committee coordination, owns specific initiatives, and works with the Treasurer to review budgets and monitor fundraising revenue against board-approved priorities.

Heather Smith

The Board Secretary keeps FoWY organized, transparent, and well-documented, scheduling meetings, drafting agendas, and recording accurate minutes that capture decisions, motions, and action items for timely distribution to the Board. The Secretary also manages official records — bylaws, policies, and historical documents — ensuring they're organized, secure, and accessible.

Rohit Tendulkar

The Treasurer serves as FoWY's financial steward, maintaining accurate records of income and expenses, reconciling accounts, and presenting a clear financial picture at each board meeting. The Treasurer leads development of the annual budget and tracks fundraising revenue and disbursements against board-approved priorities, ensuring transparency and fiscal accountability.

Sophia de Oliveira

Sophia brings strong operations and event program management experience, with a proven track record of executing and improving large-scale operational programs. At Friends of Whitney Young, Sophia has applied operational discipline to her role as Director of Development, leading strategy and execution for the Annual Fund Campaign and our Spring Bash Gala, and cultivating relationships with individual donors, alumni, parents, and community members.
